The Dems have the opportunity to deliver big on all their campaign promises as they hold power in the house, senate and executive. Everything their base wanted, they have not come close to getting.... If the GOP runs someone like Desantis it is an easy win in 2024.

No Republican will ever win again. The elections are rigged. After enough of them there might be revolt but, unlikely. Until the left fears true violence, they’ll continue to take and abuse power.

Yes, they banked on 3 easy victories, two of them largely related to Covid.

Covid:

They blamed, second guessed and villainized Trump and all his efforts to combat Covid (certainly not perfect, but…) and politicized Covid, to the point of expressing distrust in the vaccine while Trump was in office, believing that the Vaccine would be out and Covid would be effectively ‘cured; by January in time for Biden to do a victory lap (which he did). However, they did not plan for the later variants, dubious effectiveness of the vaccine (really more of a pre-treatment) and the backlash from politicizing it, causing it to blow up in their face. Now they seek to villainize the unvaxxed, who they try to characterize as primarily White Conservatives, when statistically, White Conservatives are still above the national average in being vaxed.


The Economy:

The economy, which has grown steadily since 2016, took a major hit during Covid, for obvious reasons, which was, of course, blamed on Trump. It was kind of a catch 22, because the more you quarantine, the more the economy tanks, making it a lose/lose proposition. Believing that Covid would be over by 2021, the Biden Administration expected to (and has) take credit for the post-quarantine recovery. Only, inflation is insane (and no longer looks to be a temporary effect), our freight system is on the verge of collapse, and we are on the brink of defaulting our national debt, while Biden pushes a nebulous $350 billion package which includes taxing road use and foolish corporate taxes which will hit the little man in the shorts, while shouting Tax the Rich and claiming that the money will come from nowhere.


Afghanistan:

This was already teed up and ready to sink, and yet somehow, Biden snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by pulling out from Bagram overnight, with our citizens and allies still inside, putting them, and us, at the mercy of a hostile band of terrorists.

It is unthinkable that the ANA and Afghan government would have collapsed until we left Bagram. The Taliban were, and still are, scared shitless of our military, and rightly so. They know that our weakness is our politicians.

Not only could we have gotten everyone out...EVERYONE...but we could have then given the Taliban a parting gift in the form of enough ordnance to have removed their ability to take the country, at least for a few years.

We would STILL be in a position to dictate their course of action, in regards to human rights. Now, instead they have hostages.

I know some are not going to like hearing this but I have lost coworkers due to COVID (all unvaccinated). But at this point COVID should not be a thing. There are vaccines available to anyone that wants one, and if you don't that is cool too. It is time to end that charade.

You're right, Afghanistan should have been the easiest one of all. I love how they tried to switch this on Trump again, like they weren't in control to change anything to their liking. They chose to end it this year. Giving the Taliban ALL the leverage.
