Chris Rock

It appears so. I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with a man defending his wife's honor, its all just a little suspect to me. And none of us will ever really know
I'm fine with defending his wife too, but there's ways to do it and ways not to....slapping a comedian half your size on live TV when you're certain he won't retaliate due to the nature of it being an awards ceremony ain't the way to deliver a receipt imo.

if it was "the rock"
instead of chris rock,
we'd be having a different discussion -

But why? Who benefits?

Definitely put an awkward vibe out.
Staged. This morning had it not happened essentially no one would be talking about the Academy Awards. The ratings have been in the basement and essentially no one with any sense watches the self promoting mush. Amazing how the woke can tell the "riff raff" how to act but can act like riff raff.

Looks staged to me. When they decide to have a knockdown drag out with blood and broken noses and someone ends up going to sleep for a while fight, I will be interested, until then put me in the I don't care category.
I dont see C Rock fighting anyone, plus he was so vulnerable in front of all of the Hollywood actors there and the ten people watching on TV.
