Washington and Oregon are both actually mainly good, decent places. It's the metro, population centers of Portland and Seattle that are shitholes. Exceptions, of course, but generally speaking - small town and rural areas of the states are just like small town and rural areas anywhere else.
Kind of like the crap that happens in Atlanta isn't indicative of all of Georgia, etc.
