Buh bye, 8 million dollar man @della. Yall going to the portal now?
I think we will, our #2 guy has limited playing time. We have what looks like an excellent Freshman (hit 13/16 passes in Spring game), but I think Heupel will pick up an experienced QB.

You know I will give Tennessee some credit. They didn't bend on this or cave. With all of this NIL stuff I think we all saw this kinda thing coming and of course no one wants to see it happen to their team especially when the player is threatening to not play during the playoffs..... So props to Heupel for making his stand and sticking to it. Maybe this will slow down these kids with only dollar signs in their eyes especially with the support Ewe Tee's staff is getting from people all over the nation for this decision.

Now, the question is ... who is going to pay Nico that kinda money? Frankly I never thought Nico was all that... he is a pretty good QB but not worth 4+ mill or even close.

You can't make this shit up. lol

Looks like Nico is cooked and has probably damaged his brand so bad it will never recover. Greedy ass father too ... Tulane pulled out of negotiations after his father made demands. rofl ... Nico gonna be working at Mickey D's by the time this is all over if he isn't careful.

Good. Let it be a lesson for the low IQs.

Remember Jadan Rashada, the dude suing Florida for the 13 million he was promised? Miami offered him 9.5, then UF offered him 13.5 then that didnt work out, He went to AZ St @DieSonneTeufeln and played in three games, 3 TDs and 4 ints. Then played zero games as back-up at UGA, Now he is in the portal waiting on to choose from UCONN, Tulane and WKU! And if he goes to WKU he will be in a competition for the starting job with a QB who threw 30 TDS last year. I read that Tulane is cold on him. He is the original NIL Fuck-up, now competing for a scholly in the G5. For those who dont know who WKU is, it is Western KY University. On Nico, rumour is he is going to UCLA on the cheap. @OldDevilDawg @DieSonneTeufeln What did Rashsada get in NIL at yalls schools?

Probably one of my favorite sports graphics of all time.

Yeah I heard last night that he was probly going to UCLA which to be honest kinda surprised me after his brother chose Arkansas over UCLA on signing day and pissed them off.

This guy sums it up pretty good.

Let me put a bow on this Nico stuff. Nico is a talented QB, he has a canon for an arm and is accurate. He is also an elusive runner with deceptive speed, all that makes him elite.

UT made him a newsworthy pickup with a $8mil contract. However, the payoff for UT was to be this year. UT didn't expect any on field return while Milton was playing and that was by design, but he was still getting $2.4 mil that year and that is called investment.

UT's offense is what it is and was not an unknown to Nico. If he felt he needed to be in a Pro set offense to prepare him for the Pro's, he should never have come to UT in the first place. It needs to be noted that UT's previous QB's are in the Pro's right now, so that is kinda BS. UT has addressed the definceities on the O- line thru portal and recruiting, so it is not like UT is trying to leave Nico unprotected.

This all reeks of being a money grab and thinking you are the greatest QB in history. Which leads to overplaying your hand. No school wants to be strong armed and especially in public and this is where things ended up. This was his critical mistake. Maybe, he could have gotten a little more out of UT, but he made a public stand and got his legs cut out from him publicly.

Now he goes to UCLA for $1 mil to a team that rivals Iowa on offense. UT loses an experienced talented QB. Nobody involved wins.

Great post! I don’t know what Rashada was getting at ASU cash wise but hopefully the tide is turning on these hot-head kids demanding so much. I wonder if the father/agent types are falling back to planet Earth finally knowing their retirement plans built on arms and legs of kids needs to be scrapped.
ASU is improving organically from young men who want to be in Tempe and who buy into the team chemistry driven by Dillingham. With a strong coach and a structured system I think we’ll stay away from the prima donnas only looking for dough.
Makes me sick to see what’s happening to the best sport ever tho, but in many ways we did this to ourselves regardless of how unsustainable I think it is.
Good for the Vols!

I think his dad was the one behind strong arming UT but I am sure he was wanting the $$$ too. While I do not agree about him being elite ( never scored a TD against 3 teams last year and it is widely known he does not have the best decision making skills under pressure ) he does have a great arm and can make throws but he did overthrow quite a few times last season and was ranked the middle of the pack amongst SEC QBs.

I do think Josh made a good decision not only for the team but for college football in general. UT needs to get a decent QB out of the portal or there could be some growing pains with these freshman QBs they have now.

Only time will tell tho.
