Honestly, as a fan, how do you evaluate when you start out playing a small school? My team looked sloppy and fumbled the ball away 3 times in 4 plays. They seemed to be playing undisciplined at times getting unnecessary penalties and went into the locker room up only 10-3 against an FCS school. Then turned it around and looked much better in the second half.

The good news was the defense hasn't looked that good in about a decade, even though we've had some good players. We gave up 123 yards and 3 points, which bests the last three years scrub team stats (Albany 374 yds, 14 points; Duquesne 234 yrds, 17 points; Towson 180 yards, 7 points). and once the second half started, the offense started clicking, rolling up a total of 625 yards and 26 first downs.

Overall, if they clean up what they did to start the game, I think this team will do all right this year and build for the future.
