@OldDevilDawg says the cracker barrel HB casserole is the goody.. but the portions suck.. (I agree),, so I found a very easy recipe that is so close I almost say its better..
Get a bag of fresh hashbrowns (near the eggs), add 1 can of cream of chicken soup, and a half bag of cheese (I used mild cheddar).. mix together and put in a half casserole dish, cover with foil and bake at 350 for 50 minutes,, then uncover and bake for 10 minutes more... Good Shit Dawg.. and Plenty..

It's hard to go wrong with meat, cheese, and taters, but throw in a bit of chopped sauteed bell pepper and onion and you're really talking.

Mines close but add sour cream and sauteed onions in garlic butter as well and you're there. We use black rind hoop cheese when we make it ourselves. Good sharp cheddar.

Staying in a hotel, TV is on... been watching a lot of Alaska State Troopers and thinking of you.
It's rough up there, crime wise. I see now what you said when we met. People just stumbling
around Anchorage, drunk af, and the violent drunks... not fun! Hell, I'd be a cop there!

I wish the Anchorage Safety Patrol had their own tv show!! They’re a completely separate task force of the municipality that deal strictly with (mostly homeless) inebriates. I call them the people pound. The cops would be completely overwhelmed without ASP.

This gets my seal of approval. And being an Idahoan, that holds some authority.
Sometimes you southerners mess up a good thing by smothering and stuffing and topping it with too much. Its hard to taters salt and pepper cooked golden brown in a hot cast iron. Eggs and bacon on the side.

Yep and when the waitress used to bring out the ketchup I would say no thanks this is not a steak.😎 She knows now not to bring it.

Plain and simple works best for a lot of things just have to know when to put the brakes on.
