They were not born of a revolution that was successful because the population was armed and proficient, hence no second amendment protecting them from their government. Here, there remains a fear of an overstep by the government which could result in armed insurrection. We are governed by permission, not fear. Only country in the world where the government has a healthy respect for the citizens..
