So since I have now watched Hamilton for the 34545745634534478576 time, since Musicals are life in my house. Thought I would ask y'all.
Who is your favorite president from each party? Not candidate but actually elected.
Keeping in mind that the only president to run without any party affiliation at all was Washington. And I am sure we all can agree the steward of the office he was.
John Adams (Sr.) was the only elected Federalist President, and only served 1 term. So that makes that an easy choice.
The next 4 guys all came from the Democratic-Republican, Jefferson being the most well known. To me it would have to be Jefferson or Monroe, and I go with Jefferson.
The next party to win the White House was the Democratic party with Jackson. And of course there has been a string of them since. Myself I would go with either FDR or Jackson as my favorite Democrat. I'm giving the edge to FDR for the war effort. But Jackson accomplished a ton in his time (although there is a lot of negative from his administration as well)
After that comes the Whig Party that ended up putting 4 guys in the office. Personally of them I select William H Harrison. The only 'Indiana' guy. Although that party and that group of presidents often scores at the bottom of lists.
The only other party to put a man in the White House is the Republican party which was the next party to enter, of course starting with Lincoln. And of the Republican party I would have to come down to Lincoln or Teddy. Lincoln is the easy obvious pick for his Civil War accomplishments. And Teddy for his work in de-monopolizing. So very hard pick. But going to go with Lincoln. But that really is a 1A, 1B pick.
Federalist - John Adams
Whig- Millard Filmore
Republican - Theodore Roosevelt
Democrat - John Kennedy
(Secret) Socialist - Barack Obama
Populist- Donald Trump
