The Big Cat

Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns original mascot was the Bulldogs. In 1963 then Coach Faulkinberry changed the nickname of the football team to Raging Cajuns. It was later shortened to Ragin' Cajuns. The school made it official for all athletic programs in 1974.

I go with elite pass rush. Put pressure on the quarterback, make him rush his throws and make mistakes. Certainly keeping hitting him so hard he doesn't want to get hit anymore.

I lived in Savannah for 5 years while in the Army. Great area, Russell retired the season after I got there and Bowers took over. Never saw a game but they were always a powerhouse.

All very good points. I guess I just didn't consider them a surprise team in my mind because I knew how close the Cajuns came to losing that game. Also, they had a winning record overall 8-5 and beat the crap out of LaTech in their bowl game. So to me them have a great season would not be as big...

I pick Texas State to be the surprise team of the Sun Belt. They were much better than their record indicated last season. They will surprise some teams this fall.
