If it means anything, we can still enjoy the Red River Shootout tomorrow. Other people just call it Rivalry instead of Shootout and God bless 'em if that's their thing, but I still like calling it the old name.
Anyway, fun fact about name changes. Before they became the Huskies, the University of Washington was known as the Washington Sun Dodgers. In 1922 they changed it to Huskies and thankfully, no one tried to start a culture war over it.
I mean it was traditional for Washington to be a Pac-10/Pac-12 member until it wasn't. If you wanna fight to bring that tradition back, you'll have my moral support.
