Republicans Rejoice After Woman Dies During Misscarriage

Board's resident lefty (who pretends to be impartial) posts a tragic but obscure example to castigate the 'Publicans days before the election.
An abortion law that sets logical parameters would do better than an all out ban. I am against someone flippantly getting pregnant and aborting because they simply don't want a baby.

Under abortion bans it hurts people like this woman. It hurts victims of rape or incest.

I agree. I think you'll find most conservatives, no matter how much the abhor abortion, make exceptions for health/life of the mother at the very least, and also in cases of incest and rape.

That this woman died of an infection 3 days later is tragic, but it's an exceptionally remote grey area example to use to argue against abortion laws in general. it's an article that's meant to stoke anger and it's purpose isn't informative, it's meant to scare/anger women into thinking abortion is the #1 issue, ever, at all times.

Isn’t this being presented as an extreme edge case rather than a realistic reflection of how most abortion laws are applied? Do you think using rare, tragic scenarios like this actually informs the debate, or is it mainly intended to provoke fear and outrage rather than discuss policy as it’s commonly practiced?
