You ain't wrong. But bear with me here. ALL of them have a God given talent. Same as the rest of us. "We ain't here to play school." They ain't wrong. We ALL have been blessed with our individual talents. They do a better job at taking advantage of their talents than the rest of us. The fact that they have a path to take advantage of their God given talent should be commended on a daily basis. We as fans provide that path.Let’s be honest. Most of them still only have an eighth grade education when they leave college anyway.
I don’t disagree. It seems like cheating, but honestly, two years of eighth grade would probably benefit most of them in their physical and mental development in preparation for high school and college. But it probably wouldn’t end there. We’ll eventually end up with kids in their third or fourth year of eighth grade. You ain't wrong. But bear with me here. ALL of them have a God given talent. Then they'll be 30 in College. By the time they get to the NFL, they'll be over the hill. That causes the death of the NFL. Shit will work itself out. Trust me.I don’t disagree. Yeah, obviously they can’t milk it for too long, but BYU puts plenty of players in the NFL that are 2-3 years older than typical college grads, and many of them have lasting NFL careers. Then they'll be 30 in College. Now let's pretend that those guys spend 4 years extra in HS, then they go on their "mission" for 2 years. They are 30 years old before they can declare for the draft. 4 years into an NFL career and they are already washed up. Their value is gone as soon as they get to the league. It will cause a backlash from the NFL.Yeah, obviously they can’t milk it for too long, but BYU puts plenty of players in the NFL that are 2-3 years older than typical college grads, and many of them have lasting NFL careers.
I’m not suggesting someone would spend three years in 8th grade and then extend their college career because of their mission, just that plenty of people who begin their NFL career at 24 or 25 as opposed to 21 or 22 go on to have lengthy careers. Now let's pretend that those guys spend 4 years extra in HS, then they go on their "mission" for 2 years. I'm just saying that if they can start extending their career indefinitely in 8th grade, they might be a 25-26 year old college freshman.I’m not suggesting someone would spend three years in 8th grade and then extend their college career because of their mission, just that plenty of people who begin their NFL career at 24 or 25 as opposed to 21 or 22 go on to have lengthy careers.
To That extreme, yeah, they’re wasting their prime years. But hey, only a small percentage of college players ever sniff the NFL. And as much money as they can make in college now, why not wait til you’re at your physical peak? Selling insurance can wait a few years.I'm just saying that if they can start extending their career indefinitely in 8th grade, they might be a 25-26 year old college freshman.
Im assuming that most states have some kind of age limit to compete in highschool sports.I'm just saying that if they can start extending their career indefinitely in 8th grade, they might be a 25-26 year old college freshman.
Didn't think about that part so I looked it up.Im assuming that most states have some kind of age limit to compete in highschool sports.
If I recall correctly, BYU required that all their full ride scholarship students and athletics have to serve 2 years of religious missionary after graduation before they can pursue their real life professions/careers....and most of their 2 years assignments are in some shithole towns in the nation and/or shithole countries abroad.Yeah, obviously they can’t milk it for too long, but BYU puts plenty of players in the NFL that are 2-3 years older than typical college grads, and many of them have lasting NFL careers.
If ya don't get ya ass beat, ya gonna get ya ass beat. Feel me?We now have kids and young adults who are being raised by adults who themselves were bubble-wrapped and never spanked. Incomprehensible entitlement will come with that package.
One hunnit percent. If ya don't get ya ass beat, ya gonna get ya ass beat. Feel me?
I believe Iowa has a similar position, and I'm going to bet most states do.Didn't think about that part so I looked it up.
In Georgia High School Football,
1.30 - AGE
To be eligible to participate in interscholastic activities, a student must not have reached his 19th birthday prior to
May 1st, preceding his year of participation.
So, if a Morman kid turns 19 on May 1st in Georgia, he is eligible to play in the upcoming season. He graduates at the end of the following school year around his 20th birthday. He then goes on his 2 year "mission" and turns 22 prior to his freshman season. He finishes his 4th season at the age of 26.
