Along the way make another $3 billion in the Boring Company he started, Make a few more billion $ in Neuralink which he started. Also, make several billion $ more in crypto.

Do you think he's got a big pile of gold he's hoarding a la Scrooge McDuck?

He doesn't. Most of it is tied up in his shares of his companies. He can't access the vast majority of that without giving up cotrol over his companies. Besides.....why should he just give his money away? Nobody gave it to him. He earned it.
