The team at OPDD is deeply saddened to share that veteran Kelly Galvin recently had to say goodbye to her Delta Dog, Dollar, who has been by her side since 2014.

From Kelly: "Dollar touched so many people in his lifetime, and I never met a person who didn’t like or love him. He would come with me to my doctors appointments at the VA, and would guide me to veterans who were very sad and having a bad day, gently touching their hands and putting his head in their laps. Often times, the veteran would cry or smile, patting him, and would say how Dollar truly turned their day around. Dollar and I had a rough start and it took a fair amount of time to build a trusting, loving, unbreakable bond. He was extremely funny and pampered and wore his service vest proudly. He turned my world around and I say “He saved me.” He was the friendliest hello and the hardest goodbye I have ever had. Rest in peace, my friend, until we meet again. You will always be in my heart! Kelly and Dollar Forever."IMG_1487.jpeg
