I think Trump will only put in as much $ as the rest of NATO countries are doing. Problem solved. He sees the waste we are spending when the other countries aren't pulling their own weight. NATO is a bonus for us for legitimate proxy reasons, but we are not dependent on NATO (basically USA) for anything like they are.

I remember, as a young kid/teen, my then best friends dad, a firmer naval engineer, say he never feared the Soviet Union (this was after its collapse), because he felt both sides knew nuclear war was a zero sum game. But he feared radical terrorist extremists getting their hands on one (this was years before 9/11). Always stuck fort me.

I agree with your post/sentiment…amongst intelligent, capable people. My fear, now… is/are the incapable radicals in positions of power and coddled and delusional who may ignorantly and arrogantly usher in Armageddon.

I do touch grass, ftr, daily. Well, I weed.
