Alex Kintner is the 10-year-old boy who becomes the shark’s second victim in the movie. He was played by Jeffrey Vorhees and Alex’s mother, Mrs. Kintner, was played by Lee Fierro. Many years later, Fierro was in a fish restaurant in Martha’s Vineyard (where Jaws was filmed). She saw an item on the menu called the “Alex Kintner Shark Sandwich” and told the waitress she played Mrs. Kintner in Jaws. The waitress left the table and, a couple of minutes later, Jeffrey Vorhees appeared from the kitchen – he owned the restaurant. They hadn’t seen each other since the movie and spent a couple of hours together. Naturally, Fierro didn’t pay for her meal.

The town of Amity got off easy.....they didn't have to pay Quint the $10,000 bounty.

The kid that played the prankster with the fake fin, Jonathon Searle, became the police chief in nearby town. A funny real life story about that scene, below..

When you enter a body of saltwater, you are no longer at the top of the food chain. Probably somewhere in the middle.

Im staying in the boat!

Uptick in invasive tegu lizards reported in southeast Georgia

DNR says tegus were first discovered in the region in 2014 and have been seen in the Toombs and Tattnall County area since 2018, including around the Reidsville area.

Senior wildlife biologist Daniel Sollenberger with Georgia DNR says reports have increased this year, though he says it is difficult to estimate how many are in the wild.

“There’s been an uptick this year,” Sollenberger said. “We don’t have an estimate for the number of animals. It’s very difficult to find one of them, much less count enough of them.”

Sollenberger said if he had to guess, tegus are still likely outnumbered by some common wildlife in Georgia but could be more plentiful than others.

“There’s probably more possums than there are tegus, but fewer coyotes [than there are tegus],” he said.

^^^Just across the river from me.

I'll be honest, since I'm younger than you old grizzled bastards, when I finally saw Jaws, I thought it was kinda hokey TBH. I guess up to that time in cinema it would have been a big deal and scary, but I was probably desensitized and/or with newer movies, less impressed by the animatronics. The iconic Jaws "sound" of the shark approaching was pretty cool though.

I guess I just didn't think that it held up well, as opposed to another movie that came out back then, "The Exorcist", which I enjoyed thoroughly.

I will add, Jaws 3D is absolutely positively one of the Top 3-5 worst movies I've ever seen. Holy shit what a steaming pile of crap that one was
