Not being that guy.
But trying to stat facts and using NewMax. Is like stating you know the truth by linking an MSNBC article.
Their job is collect clicks and views. Telling facts falls somewhere vastly behind that
I’m not acting like the source is worth giving much credence, I was more speaking to (as the article touched on) the social aspect (the perks) of being in the alphabet group.
It’s funny that the narrative of a closeted, persecuted gay/(insert letter) is still perpetuated like it was the early 90s, when being in the group is not only bring part of a protected class, it’s socially en Vogue, and as BS said, it’s less about sexuality and more akin to being part of a lobby, union, etc, a club that can and does exert power. Note the picture they post of the (whatever letter it’s supposed to be), they’re a cliche. You’re old enough to remember when the gay issue was first addresses (and a major landmark on which the issue’s war was won) was that a gay guy wasn’t a limp wristed, lispy flamboyant eccentric morally repulsive wretch but the quiet, flannel and jeans wearing, unassuming guy next door your mom wanted to date your sister…a lonely, normal but gay person. Love is love. Now, look at a PRIDE parade…with no fight left to fight, they’ve become morally decadent displays more akin to carnival than protests/movements, more guys in bondage and dildos putting on provocative exhibition than asking for the right to marry or work openly. To be part of the alphabet group now means to be allowed to be in costume, or rather a pink haired piercing uniform, the more stereotypical the “look”, the more emboldened and safer one can be to be the victim which means be the bully. Showered with praise and affirmation and carte blanche to go on the offensive against anyone, or anything, under the vague umbrella of discrimination, persecution, and if you can slap sexism or racism or body issues on there as well, Hell, double the feigned outrage and twice as much sense of entitlement to attack.
