Kirby Smart releases official statement regarding status of Adam Anderson (dawgnation.com)

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart released an official statement on the status of Adam Anderson. The Georgia linebacker is currently being investigated on a rape allegation by the Athens Clarke-County Police Department

“We are aware of the report and we don’t comment on law enforcement matters, but I’ve been clear about the high standards we have for our student-athletes on and off the field,” Smart said. “I will be working closely with our administration to ensure we cooperate fully with all law enforcement and campus protocols.”
 
I’m going to give you a perspective from a guy who was in charge of a sexual assault unit of a police department.

Rape allegations come in several forms:

The “buyer remorse.” This statement was said by a female detective: “Had sex, regret it.”

The drug induced form: To drunk or under the influence of alcohol or drugs to say “no.” Guy is guilty of taking advantage of an “under the influence” female. Guy’s a dirt bag in my opinion.

The total stranger rape: someone lurking to commit the crime. Very rare

I am not justifying what happened. Just expressing what I know from experience.

Georgia Bulldogs LB Adam Anderson turns himself in to police, charged with felony rape (espn.com)

Anderson has denied the allegation through his attorney, Steve Sadow.
"Adam is innocent of the charge brought against him and intends to vigorously defend himself in court," Sadow said in a statement. "He will seek release on bond. Once again, Adam hopes and prays that the UGA community and the public keep an open mind and afford him the presumption of innocence that the law demands."

"Anderson was first arrested on rape charges on Nov. 10, 2021, after being accused of assaulting a 21-year-old woman on Oct. 29. The woman said she had drinks at a party in Athens, Georgia, and awoke to Anderson raping her. A grand jury formally indicted Anderson in April 2022, and a second charge was later added to his case.

Anderson was considered a potential first-round pick at the time of his arrest. Steve Sadow, Anderson's attorney, said he believes his client's football career is "definitely not over with."

Anderson still faces charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment, battery, simple battery, theft by taking and reckless conduct for a separate case that took place in 2022."



I'm betting that when he get out of prison, he signs a multi-million dollar contract in the NFL. Them money grubbing fucks don't care what it takes to win.
