The new and improved Good Morning thread!

You seriously have to break it down play by play for us in this thread! What was he trying to steal? Was the guy on meth? What was his reply? So many questions!

My grandpa built both houses and instead of renting out the other one like when I grew up, it's become storage since Hurricane Michael put a giant water oak through the shed.

I was on my second load of ground blinds/chairs/tripods when I noticed the would be thief through the screen door.

I had a cooler full of food, water, Pepsi, and beer, along with the hunting equipment and a ton of $$$ in camera equipment in the unlocked truck.....and my HiLift jack.

I told the dispatcher I was going to detain the guy until they arrived and she said no problem, I'll let the responding officers know.

Walked out slow and heeled, dude had no idea I was there, and told him to get on the ground. The guy was a straight up twitchy worm, so I assume meth.

Did he say anything at all?

I'm not perfect and have had Gog knows how many similar run-ins the last few years.

I didn't reach for my phone first.

Well, it sounds like you might have reached for the gun first, but then you assessed the situation and realized he wasn't really a threat and just a junkie and used discretion (it is the better part of valor.....). IMO, you did the right thing and maybe a few days in the tank will help him detox before he goes to trial and gets a few more lol

You have more restraint than me. But business was handled nevertheless.

Y'all don't give me too much credit, I'm just no use to my 70 year old permanently disabled dad if I'm in the clink.

Different circumstances, the guy would likely be eating through a straw the rest of his life.

As I said....discretion. No matter the reason, you gauged the threat and the potential consequences and still got the problem solved.
