Absolutely! I raised three daughters, but to be totally honest it wasn’t ME the boys had to be scared of, it was momma! She didn’t mince words or cut the boys any slack! I was just her backup

And as an edit to add, I had to think about this for a minute.
My son has a daughter, my grandaughter and a few years ago we had a conversation.
If someone were to, I'll just say"harm her", I told him that I would take care of it.
I'm an old man. What they gonna do to me? A life sentence isn't that much of a threat AFAIC, besides she would need you present and accounted for to help her thru it.
