Official Proof Democrats hate America thread

Half my classes at bachelors level were complete BS. The same could be said with my masters. There was a lot of work involved, dont get me wrong and it has certainly helped along the way, no doubt. BUT, The colleges are money makers in stretching out the degrees by keeping you doing "busy work" not learning. IMHO
Agreed. And please no one get me wrong and think that I'm bashing a college education and that no one needs it.

You never even implied that. I encourage my adult kids to go get a trade license. If you are trying to be an MD, VET, super engineering person, health field, or a lawyer (good lawyer) then you need the education. Otherwise go learn a trade. IMHO. I went for the professional license, to make a bit of money (enough to survive) and enjoy what I was going to do.

In truthfulness I don't. I went to college for not quite 2 years, I had to leave and come back home to the farm after my dad got hurt by a cow and could hardly walk for a month. It Kicked him right in the side of his knee. I've got more than a college education. I went to the school of hard knocks. It's a school you never graduate from, but it teaches you independence, to think for yourself, life's not fair, and boys are boys and girls are girls. It teaches you how to build things, mechanic, plumbing, welding, electrical, economics, how to grow things, how to kill things, hard work, to rely on your self. How many people get all of that from college? I haven't learned how to be a machinist yet but it's on the agenda.

Same...I have about 2 years of college and a Journalism Degree from the Army. That gets me past any strict degree requirement on a resume if someone wants to hire me. I just went to work and never saw the need to go back and get a formal degree.

Ah. I get it now.

No shit 'yall, listen to this: Most bachelors degrees require around 140 credit hours to get the degree and most classes gets you 3 credit hours. When I was going for my bachelors, you had to have 3 credit hours of "athletics" I had 2 credit hours of "aerobic walking." and 1 credit hour of something I cant even remember. Other options for the athletic 2 hours included: Bowling and ballroom dancing, I shit you not. I think back then it was $100 per credit hour. $300 well spent... I bet its $500 per credit hour now at a public institution.

Yep. Unless you've got money to throw away, take those classes at community college. Grand daughter wants to be a vet. I convinced my daughter in law that the 1st 2 years were pretty much BS courses and to take the money they saved by sending her to community college, fold the money over and put it in their pocket. She's in her second semester at the local community college. Credits will all transfer and she'll get out and take pre vet classes that are actually relevant to what she wants to do...

Just checking in boys! Another 4 or so pages of absolutely no different opinions. It is perfect in here for people who want to reinforce their ridiculous beliefs that have led them to be ridiculed by their family and friends (with college degrees at least). Keep it up!

Oh? Really? And you know this how? You're so enlightened you read the tea leaves and know how friends/family feel about us?
My my. We are so blessed to have someone so special grace us with their presence. The tired old crap of a leftie trying to be so intelligent and failing miserably.

Their is a HUGE difference between intelligence, and education. One of the most INTELLIGENT people I’ve ever known never finished high school but could build, or repair just about anything. On the other hand, I know shit loads of “educated” people, with advance degrees who can’t pour piss out of a boot with the directions printed on the heel.
