Bye Bye PAC-12

I will say this. Imagine these moves. The ACC collapses. And then you end up with KY, Duke, and UNC in one conference
 
Im starting to think that there will be only one conference with everything going on such as NIL, the portal, etc in the future. Just a 64 team play-off to decide the Natty. Who will be the 64? What is the NCAA saying about all this? crickets chirping...

A lot of speculation but the ACC schools might be available soon. Big 12 is positioned well to be a clear #3 and compete for future CFP spots.

1st domino is ND

2nd is the Big Ten's next move. Once we see where the Big Ten goes with expansion, we will know what the Big 12's options are. There's still going to be a lot of solid programs available.

yep, and if they decline,
then i'm thinkin the B10 stands pat at 16,
and the PAC (temporarily) grabs a couple small schools,
and the B12 remains at 12
(unless the AZ schools smell the pee on the wall)

altho 16 or 18 seems a likely baby-step(?)

I read a lot of insiders problem is they get paid for their stories. And quite a bit of the time they are just that stories. FOX wanted SC and UCLA as part of the media FV package don’t be surprised if they have a say. If ND does accept don’t be surprised if Stanford is the other school. They bring a lot more to the table than you may realize. Especially with SC and ND involved.

You could also have other issues according to “insiders”. Who are reporting Oregon and Washington lawmakers are pushing to keep Oregon and Oregon State. And Washington amd Washington State together. There is a real possibility Oregon and Washington could be blocked by their own perspective states.

Which is another reason Stanford would be a much stronger pairing with ND or another Univerisity possibly outsidde the PAC. Stanford like SC is also a private university that does not rely on state funding and the state in general. A lot of this does hinge on Notre Dames decision and no one really knows. A lot of rumors and gossip right now. All I’m saying is take “insider reports” with a grain of salt. This could go in a number of directions. At the moment it’s just guessing.

There's zero legislation that prevents an Oregon/Oregon State split up. Canzano's article was about a "growing movement" (Beaver fans) who want to push that legislation. That isn't going anywhere. If Oregon is invited to join the Big Ten, Oregon State isn't stopping them. That's nonsense. Remember when people said Oklahoma State was going to stop Oklahoma from leaving the Big 12?

One thing to remember about GOR and the ACC, it only takes 8 votes by current ACC members to waive the fee. That means if 8 teams have spots in the Big Ten or SEC, GOR isn't a factor

Name 5 that would agree for the biggest name schools in the conference to leave.

Edited to add: The ACC doesn't have 8 teams total that the SEC and B1G are interested in.

Big Ten would have interest in UVA, UNC, Duke, and GT at a minimum.

I'm not sure what the SECs interest would be but that could leave them with Clemson, Florida State, Miami FL, NC State or Virginia Tech.

It's not a slam dunk but I've seen crazier things
