I've been saying this since gas prices started to spike. @Copejunkie agreed, saying that fuel prices per acre have gone from around $10 to over $30. And that's probably just for cut silage. Bale that stuff up so it's easier to transport and it's even higher. Your protein is about to get very, very expensive. But remember - bugs are cheaper to grow. They want you to eat bugs.

The leftists that hate animal agriculture have been at this for years. There are studies, not very reliable ones for the most part, that try to estimate the amount of water that it takes to grow a pound of beef. To try to say that raising cattle is bad for the environment. Some say it takes over a thousand gallons of water. They try to break it down into green and i believe they call it blue water. Green water is rainfall, blue comes from other sources. In their studies the green water is far and away the largest contributer. So I ask the question, whats wrong with that? Those cattle are out in a pasture grazing on plants that are already growing because of rain water. The cattle aren't "stealing" that water from people. And in the winter they are getting fed plants that we harvested that grew because of rain water. Sure when they are in a lot they get some well water, but the majority of the water they consume or their food consumes comes from nature.
