BIG: MichSt versus Wisconsin

NC State is a popular pick to win the Division. I don’t know if they qualify as a “Dark Horse” especially with what they have on the roster.

Acceptable. But everything I've seen...most by a huge margin think it will be Clemson. I think Clemson is done. Venables was the glue that made Dabo famous. I'm the only person I've seen that picked NCState to win the ACC, so that was my thought process.

If that works out like you say then dabo is only a somewhat head coach. Saban loses assistants, hires others and keeps rolling along.
And all the yelling I've heard that dabo is gonna be Saban's replacement. I doubt he could be anywhere near Sabans league. We shall see.

I don’t know about “huge margins” Clemson still has the best talent in the league so the benefit of the doubt goes their way, but NC State is pretty unanimously the second pick and myself and others I’ve seen have called for them to win the division and expected to be the real threat to the Tigers.

To me, a Dark Horse is like Wake last year, who was predicted by many to be around 4th or 5th in the division and wound up winning it.

As for Clemson, it’s an important year for them, it’s similar to the fall of Coach Bowden’s dynasty in 2001-2002. They either bounce back and get back to 11 wins or they drop another 2-3 losses and the foundation is cracked.

Clemson is on my list of ugly Orange. I've hated them since I was a kid. I pay attention to what's happening just across the border for that reason. It's reasonable to think that no one would want to follow Saban, but I firmly believe that Dabo would be the wrong answer in Tuscaloosa.

"Nobody can be near Saban’s league. He’s the best of all time. You guys are gonna have to get used to that when he retires. Dabo for years had great assistant retention so that’s hardly a knock against him as a coach. Unless you think guys like Bowden and Paterno were “somewhat” coaches."
