The Most Expensive City in America to Rent a Home – 24/7 Wall St. (247wallst.com)

But, the city with the highest rent was not in the south or west. Jersey City, which can be reached from New York City by bridge, tunnel, or ferry, is only minutes from the country’s largest city. The average rent in Jersey City was $5,500 this year.

That's $5500 a month! I don't even MAKE that much!
I wouldn’t pay $5.50 to live in that shit hole. But, to each his own I suppose.

That's 4 months mortgage for me. To live in fuck off Jersey? I'd rather eat shit and die.

Rent is crazy here in Chattanooga... my youngest has been looking to move but she says everything is around 1500. a month for a one bedroom and two bedrooms are 2k.

I have no idea how people around here are affording that.
Yeah, rent is crazy expensive everywhere. My daughters rent at a tiny one bedroom apt in Huntsville is $1500 per month.

Luckily, I own my home. More coming in than I spend plus $200,000 in fuck 'um money. Will be making every day a Saturday at year end.

Like RTR said in Huntsville rent is crazy for north Alabama and there are apartments springing up like weeds there. Of course, there are industries doing the same.

As far as Huntsville. My son and his family live right outside it and says with industry and companies moving in it is one of the fastest growing cities around. So, yeah, it figures for rent to be high.

Yeah… my daughter got a job with Boeing there.
Wow, I would have never guessed that. Chattanooga? Huntsville does have all those high tech jobs though. But still... WTF?
