Good morning coffee crew. Little bit of home humor. As most know, I am deaf. Just returned home after being gone several days. Mrs. tells me one of the smoke detectors is beeping (low battery). Of course I need her to point out which one. This is becoming comical because she can't seem to figure out which one it is. I stopped putting the ladder away because she keeps pointing to the wrong one.

I'm glad you have a good sense of humor about it.

I had an aunt and uncle that were both deaf and my uncle also had polio.

I was staying with my grandmother once her demintia got bad. He couldn't speak, but could write me a novel in minutes.

He often showed up to visit and would crack me up with his stories.

I'm glad he was able to do that and you got to experience it. As for grandmother and dementia, sorry about that. My mil is in the early stages of that and it is already getting tough. I picked her up before returning home because now her daughters take turns watching her.

As for me being deaf, its only been a couple of years now so I had 50+ of hearing, definitely can't complain and I will not. I have actually come to embrace it. Teaching my granddaughter to sign to me is like hearing your kids first words. She's got the please, thank you, and eat sign dialed in and she is just over a year old. Ok, enough bragging, sorry about that.

I read a Buddhist saying the other day and kind of like it: It is possible to turn poison into medicine. If I screwed that quote up, feel free to correct me.

I've dealt with with that crap with multiple grandparents including one that also had Parkinson's.

Don't appologize to me, you're a good man Charlie Brown. Vent all you want.

She seems to be adamant about fixing things, but you're right, the limbo does suck. I don't really know how to feel about everything tbh, I know the "resignation" of Swan is a step in the right direction. I just hope they get everything squared away before recruiting takes a major hit.
