While I never thought the Bugs could win, there's a couple of things that made this game different than last year's 45-0 blowout in Atlanta. (I took my daughter to that game.)
GT is playing for a bowl game. Midway through the season, that seemed like a pipe dream. Brent Key took over as interim HC when Collins was fired. Key played OL for GT. This game MATTERS to him because GT MATTERS to him. Key spent 3 years as Saban's OL coach. He understands the importance of physicality and has brought that over the last month at GT. He may actually end up losing that "Interim" tag.
I spent all week telling my buddies that this game would not resemble last year because of those reasons. GT is starting their 3rd string QB because 1 and 2 are out for the season, but they are fighting their ass off, being physical as hell, and not quitting. Giving credit where credit is due.
