I don't think so. It cheapens the oath to me. It would be like taking an oath on the Dennys menu, because that's where mom worked when he was growing up. If Superman is the depths of his faith that's quite sad.
 
Constitution, pic of his deceased parents, and his naturalization papers. as well as the comic he learned to read english with. His personal journey. If you're not religious it works for me, being religious should never be a requirement for a public office...

The Constitution I can get on board with, kind of - because it is a set of ideas. The rest is nostalgia for him. While being religious should never be a requisite, I sure wouldn't want a nihilist representing me.

The purpose of swearing an oath "on" something is to deepen your commitment - because it goes beyond self. I don't know if swearing to defend the Constitution "on" the Constitution really counts as deepening that oath.

Just my opinion, I think it's ridiculous

I will say, Superman is the closest thing to a Christian/religious lore character there is.

But we both know it won’t be. The Jan 6th committee as nothing more than a democrat flex. A “we will do whatever we want, rules, laws, truth be damned, and you can’t and won’t do shit about it. Our ends justify our means, and our decisions are final.”
