Thank Obama and the rest of the Democrats who set this country back over 100 years.Man, he ain't wrong. There's honestly so much racial hate in this country across the damn board. Blacks racist to natives, racist to blacks in return. Everyone hates white folk half the damn time. Just so much god damned hate man, I hate it.
@CowpokeU This is one of the major reasons we won't see the two sides come together. And this isn't necessarily being pushed by DC swamp, partisan politics. This is being pushed by the leftists, the main stream media, etc. There's money there. And this group identity ideology is not something of the right (maybe an extremely small sliver of "right" idiots) but it is a core tenet of those on the left. Conservatives value the individual, not group identity. Like it or not, racist bullshit is being driven by the left.
More centralized law enforcement power? No thanks. Look at how well that's working for the FBI etc.Y'all, most cops are scared of black areas. Tulsa would stack up 4 cars to me soloing a call in gang land. Maybe I was stupid in trusting that fate already decided the date of my death there which, honestly is probably true but when they NEEDED a cop, they called for "the black cars" instead of Tulsa PD. I got more information on actual cartel activity by not being scared. A big portion here is this, most newer non-prior service police are scared, & I guess there's weight to it because I twice had to fire my duty weapon in 14 months of service.
I'll be honest, I think policing should be a federally trained & paid job. Instead of tiny towns being able to only afford a 22 year old fresh face or a 65 year old retiree, they will receive federally trained officers. Pay rates go on federal scale with cost of living increases etc. Federal police only serve 20 years before they receive their pension for it being a hazard job & it keeps our police force younger & healthier. This also allows transfers across the board across the country. We do this for the federal fire service & it works amazingly.
Then this will keep happening. You know I told on a cop for breaking the law, small town cop but it happened the be MY small town. He kidnapped his baby momma then held her in the cell which hadn't been used since my great grandad was chief of police, then tried to have me back him up in her "attacking" him. I got suspended for 2 weeks for that. I did. He eventually moved to another dept.More centralized law enforcement power? No thanks. Look at how well that's working for the FBI etc.
NIFC can pool resources, which is one of its strengths, but it has its own set of problems.
The current federal administration is running the country on two, or more, different interpretations of our sets of standards, which is a monumental screwup. The Mexican border is a prime example of the different interpretations of standards. All of our national borders should operate on the same set of rules. Then this will keep happening. We can keep kicking the can all we want but we've got to come up with something that holds all police across the country to the same standards & practices. I get the apprehension of increased federal presence but with that comes the caveat of them only being responsible for their call area & unable to practice law willy nilly but then again, there's room to litigate that to the floor.
I honestly don't see any solution possible that doesn't just come with a multitude of problems & issues.
You can adopt a set of standards without centralizing the power. Part of the problem is that cops have been so villified that they've quit or taken early retirement. Standards have been lowered. Diversity and inclusion practices are making forces weaker. Memphis bragged about their DEI police hiring practices. It's no surprise that more bad apples are getting in.Then this will keep happening. You know I told on a cop for breaking the law, small town cop but it happened the be MY small town. The Memphis police chief should be held accountable for abandoning the citizens of Memphis last night. They, and those passing through the city, shouldn't have to fend for themselves on public highways. There should have been a visible presence, even with the tension in the city. A mother with children in the car shouldn't have to face masked vigilantes alone. You can adopt a set of standards without centralizing the power. We aren't going to stop it. We can try to reduce it. Cops are people, individuals. Individual people have the capacity for evil. Evil exists. We will not stop it from manifesting, we can only take the appropriate steps to hold individuals accountable when it happens. That seems to be happening in this case. There is zero need for "protests".
Interesting. I think a few of us said this earlier in the thread. Meanwhile you have people wondering "how do we fix it?". Ummm... maybe don't bteak shit to begin with.
But, Saint Floyd of the Fentanyl died unable to breathe. So, peaceful fire and ACAB. And if this case doesn’t prove white supremacy, nothing will. We’re coming for your AR-15s, Jack! #YouHaveSchtolenMyDreams #EatMoreBugs #GetAnotherBoosterInteresting. I think a few of us said this earlier in the thread. Here's the thing.... I think, at first look, we can all agree this doesn't look good - at all. But, that's not good enough - it HAS to be racism. It HAS to be acab (because, you know, group identity). We HAVE to "protest" (and by protest, we mean riot and cause general mayhem). It's always taken to the extreme. And then people wonder "why are they upset at our "protests"? " Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit! But, Saint Floyd of the Fentanyl died unable to breathe. So, peaceful fire and ACAB. I always say to people defending these “protests”, and the destruction of property, “Give me your address. I’d like to peacefully protest at your home.”Here's the thing....
