Wouldn’t be cool if any given year your favorite team played in a sampling of P5 conferences?

ND this year will play all of the following

MWC x 1 New Mexico
AAC x 1 Navy
MAC x 1 Bowling Green
ACC x 5 Louisville, Virginia, VTech, BC, Duke
B1G x 1 Michigan
SEC x 1 Georgia
PAC x 2 USC, Stanford

Watched an video about how it is important data wise that ND does this. Because it is the only time you see a top 25 type team anymore mix these conferences to get data sampling on how teams do across the spectrum. Tell me you wouldn’t rather see more of this.

Now is the perfect time for ND to join the ACC! Hell, you are practically already in the ACC with that schedule. Then play a weak OOC schedule! Thought you guys were supposed to be smart?

Wait, forgot... Gotta have dat money! Psh... playoffs? :p

If ND conferences up. They will lose a lot of control over their 3 annual games. Stanford, USC, Navy.

ND finishes their regular season every year in California. That way while the CCG are going on the coaches stay out there and recruit.

And ND is basically already the 2nd best team in the ACC now. You dont want them cross conference of Clemson. Until some radical changes that would be the CCG for upcoming future. It helps the ACC vastly more than it does ND. And ND job is to look out for ND.

Just a thought. Keep doing it the way you have and get the same results probably. I agree that you guys are the second best program in a Clemson scenario, but I also think ND has just as much a chance against them as other big time programs now and in the future. The current scheme hasnt worked if your goal is to win a NC again. Good luck with your beloved annual non-conference games. You could still schedule them OOC. That way of thinking is not the hard-nosed ND of the past. Seems like yall just wanna settle for something.

3 G5 teams and 9 P5 teams seems reasonable. Who they play in the ACC is probably out of their control, conference wants to spread 'em around for the crowds they bring, plus with the ACC tie in it counts as conference games for the other schools involved. Great schedule for an independent. Looking at you, BYU...

I'll talk to coach about going Indy a little later today.

UGA has multiple rivals because of conference affiliation. 2 OOC rivals because of proximity. I've always been proud of UGA for scheduling 2 P5s OOC most years. I like that they schedule nationwide. Aside from the doormat in Atlanta (GT) every year, UGA has

Virginia - 2020
Oregon - 2022
Oklahoma - 2023
Clemson -2024
UCLA - 2025

Hell, 2028 already has Texas, FSU, and GT OOC. Throw in what is typically 4-5 season ending top 25 teams in the SEC, aside from any playoff games, and I'm pretty damned pleased with UGA's scheduling.

Not knocking NDs schedule that is nationwide every year. Much respect. It's just a different perspective.
