A civil lawsuit that was filed Thursday accuses three San Diego State football players, which includes Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza, of gang raping a 17-year-old girl at an off-campus party last year.

Araiza, who was drafted by the Bills in April, was accused of having sex with the minor outside the home. He then allegedly brought her inside to a room where she was repeatedly raped.

Well, he gets his day in court, but if true? Eff him.

Fully agree, but my first thought was, "Where are the legal charges?" A civil lawsuit that's not backed up by legal charges is pretty suspect at best.
In a civil case, the burden of proof is much lower. I don’t know if this has any impact or not. If you remember, OJ was not guilty in criminal court, but LOST the civil case filed against him.

So NFL suspends him a few months?

At the victim has money to pursue for some justice, again assuming guilty as implied.

I’m of the same mind with that scenario most of the time, but this one looks sketchy. The girl went to the hospital and had a rape kit done and the police/campus investigation seems to have never been pursued in earnest.

Supposedly the civil case was pursued to bring attention to the incident and force some action. I guess we’ll see.

According to Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports, a 200-plus-page transcript of a 100-minute meeting between prosecutors and the plaintiff, who was 17 years old at the time of the alleged assault, and her lawyer reveal that prosecutors determined that Araiza was no longer present at the party.

"He wasn't even at the party anymore," deputy district attorney Trisha Amador explained. Later, Amador said of the timeline of events, "All I know is that at that point, suspect Araiza is gone from the party."

He should countersue for lost wages at minimum.

How hard is it for you to root for a Swamp Lizard alum? Or maybe he ain't anymore after signing so many Dawgs. :ROFLMAO: I ain't an NFL guy, but I might have to root for my Philly Dawgs.

My complicated love/hate relationship with Howie goes way deeper than his college choice. Rivalries tend to die for me at the next level when it’s my team (of course that also depends on ability. For example, Trey Burton gets a feee dinner anytime he wants. Riley Cooper can fuck the hell off)
