So Michigan State and Penn State will be playing primetime at Ford Field in Detroit on Black Friday.

I don’t like this move. Apparently it’s part of a “give back” to the TV networks. Former B1G commish Kevin Warren made promises he couldn’t keep, so we’re bending over for NBC. This is the downside to the big TV cash…I doubt MSU/PSU or the B1G had the option to say no, though everyone is acting like we did.

The students aren’t on campus then anyway, but East Lansing businesses miss out, the HS championship games get bumped back and all this is announced a couple weeks after season tickets were renewed along with seat license fees.

Not a good look.

This is what happens when you let the networks and the cash run the sport instead of the administrative and passion for the sport.

This won't be the last time something similar happens.

It looks like Fox is going to focus on their Big Noon time slot, NBC wants night games and CBS will do the 3:30 slot. All depending on who gets to pick first that week. BTN filling the gaps. ESPN was outbid, so they’ll never miss an opportunity to shit on the B1G and it’s teams.

As for this move, MSU loses a bit in a crucial year:
- Senior Day is now in week 10 instead of week 13
- we can’t host recruits for the last “home” game (because it’s off campus)
- playing in potentially bad weather against a more talented team would have been preferable
- only 5 Saturday home games this year, only 3 B1G games on campus
- now only 1 home game on campus in October and November

At least our BB team should be a contender.
