Honestly I don't see a reason to go more than 4 teams. Football is too physical of a sport, it would run into spring semester, and mediocrity shouldn't be rewarded.

Just my opinion... We don't need two teams playing the same amount of games as a NFL teams regular season...

Personally I would like to see 12 teams.

First round bye to the top for. And the first two rounds in the higher seed home stadium.

Then go to the BCS stadiums from there.

This season, that would have given us these opening-round games:
  • No. 5 Georgia vs. No. 12 Penn State
  • No. 6 Ohio State vs. No. 11 LSU
  • No. 7 Michigan vs. No. 10 Florida
  • No. 8 UCF vs. No. 9 Washington
And then these matchups
  • No. 1 Alabama vs. opening-round winner
  • No. 2 Clemson vs. opening-round winner
  • No. 3 Notre Dame vs. opening-round winner
  • No. 4 Oklahoma vs. opening-round winner
Seriously this would have been awesome

It would be awesome in some sense, but is it worth putting extra games on the kids though? That's my only concern.

IB has got it right. 12 is what I've advocated all along, for years. First four teams that lose have had their bowl game and no more playing time. Four teams that won play on. Worst cade scenario is two of these four teams win out and play two games beyond a typical bowl. If the four bye teams win first game after bye then they have same scenario of two teams playing two extra games above a typical bowl game. I don't think it's excessive for two teams to play one game extra for the championship. Alternative is drop to 6 teams with top two having a bye. This eliminates the extra game.

According to my relative competency model I suggest we use 128 teams and use the radius of an orange as the template for determining SOS. From there we use Keynesian economics to determine home field advantage for the playoffs and we eliminate conferences and have teams play a schedule as to their student body's appreciation of Natalie Portman

I really don't care whether it is 4, 8 or 12 teams in the CFP but the committee selection process is absurd. It needs to go back to the BCS ranking of 1/3 Harris, 1/3 Coaches and 1/3 Computer.

I'm barely interested in 4. Going beyond that is just a waste of time & it's not the NFL.

Let college stay something different.

Four is enough, IF, the FBS gets divided into 4 conferences including the independents being placed in a rotation of one of the four conferences.
