Week 4 - 2023 CFB Pick'em

But that’s kinda silly. Imo. One can be pragmatically “realistic” (pessimistic) about their trans chances, but still want their team to win. I want Bama to win, I expect them to lose. Saying as much is just me being honest, not betraying my loyalty.
maybe so, but...

both spawn are 10s Tech -

with the money rollin in to SMU...
if not this year, certainly next year,
and they'll be able to overtake the toads -
Not really. They will have to fund the media revenue shortage AND NIL, where the rest of the ACC will just be funding NIL collectives. That being said, they will be making more money than they did in the AAC without the media or donor money - so not as big of an impact as it would be for another school that is already a P5.

OK, it looks like we are only missing @della and my picks. Also, missing 1 pick (FSU/Clemson) for @AlaCrimsonTide06

As always, thank you all for playing!

Here are mine:
Florida State @ Clemson
Auburn @ Texas A&M
SMU @ TCU
Colorado @ Oregon (I so want to pick Colorado because no one else did and I am behind, but no...)
UCLA @ Utah
Ole' Miss @ Alabama
Ohio State @ Notre Dame
Iowa @ Penn State
Texas Tech @ WVU
Mississippi State @ South Carolina

you may be underestimating the SMU BMDs -

I get where you are coming from.

But all things equal. Football is about match ups. And Ole Miss doesn't match up well. Their O line is just porous and their QB is expected to put on his cape and play super man far too often.

This may not be a top 3 Bama team. But if it can gel it can be very complimentary.

I would be surprised if Bama loses tomorrow

All things are not equal when you're talking about Bama though (at least on paper), but I see what you're sayin and I actually picked the elephants to win. Another thing to consider is that Saban has lost to Jimbo, Kirby, and now Sark. I just don't see him allowing a loss to Kiffen happen.

I am one of the few especially ND fans that you will find that likes Kiffin. I think he is a good 9 to 10 win coach. Given choice I would take him over Jimbo.

Would be interesting to hear from the Bama crows here who they like better as a coach. Kiffin or Sark.

MarineUkFan gave you the heads-up clue, it's a night game at home. We usually win those.

If we are relatively healthy (we are) and our freshman have a few games experience (they do) and the point spread is single digits, it's very likely we will win.

The only caveat is if it's a sloppy weather game and we are forced to run the ball. That's our current Achilles heel.

This is true.

Sloppy weather should be gone by tomorrow night for you guys in Columbia I would imagine. It's hitting here now and supposed to make landfall north of us late tomorrow morning I believe, so y'all should be good before tomorrow night.

Hmmn. That’s a good question.
