Not sure if Soundoff is dead, sleeping, or I got banned or something

I did a quick check of the different boards and this is what I found over there.

Even though I was IP banned, and my username was banned, I could still logon from a different IP and look at messages. I can't even do that anymore. Looks like they gave the site last rights and pulled the plug.

I decided to give Autzen an email shout and see if he knows what's up.

And just like that, I hear back. Autzen doesn't seem able to log in either. Normally if there's something like this it involves cleanup/upgrades/whatever, but those come with a warning of "We'll be offline for a bit to deal with maintenance things."

It must have been sleeping, it's awake now.

Anyway, I'm trying to figure which game threads to do this week.

The Hoop posters have been enjoying the "number of members vs. guests viewing" thing. The Soundoff I guess attracts guests.

Turns out the posters aren’t the problem with the board, it’s the higher ups that can’t run it right.

If only someone had tried to warn everyone about it getting worse and worse before they got perma banned...
If you only knew the shear number of emails and conversations sent from us to the site admins on various topics such as IT, bandwidth, and logistical issues it would spin your head.

By the time of the purge most of us had given up because we had spent years trying to get them to look at even the slightest upgrades. And the only answer we were ever given was that they upgraded the platform for the board and that should be enough. Even tough 3/4 of the options on the platform either weren’t being used or weren’t accessible to people that needed them. It made for a very hostile us vs them mentality.

It’s a thankless job. I never really try to bother mods to begin with.
