It will mean more funding to the states as it cuts out the middleman (DOE). How the states choose to spend that extra money is on them.

The states are too inept to handle education. Just like they are too inept to handle abortion, gun laws...etc. That's why you need a government to oversee it, otherwise why are these states even in the United States if they are going to be given their own self governance?? We call entities that can govern themselves, COUNTRIES!

This may just push California to become its own country. They may combine with Washington and Oregon to be one big country.

There was no such thing as a DOE until Jimmy Carter created it and the schools did just fine. In fact their test scores were far better than what they are now, especially when you take into account how much money is being spent per student. The DOE is a money pit that offers no real value. As far as the west coast states leaving the US ... it would be a godsend seeing how it would give the US the excuse it needs to invade and occupy those states while cleaning house.

Invade them and turn them into states again? lol

As for education. I am just not sure if the states having power would be better. Alabama is currently ranked 45th worst state in education. Not sure giving these people more power will help....

California is at or near the bottom for public education even though that state spends more money per student than any other US state. That will be the first state to sink when the DOE is done away with seeing how their politicians will blow that money on stupid sh1t.

One thing education does wrong atm is forcing every kid to try and be on the same level of knowledge and intelligence. You have to build on their individual strengths and that will lead them to careers they can actually do and succeed at.

Learning the basics of math is great but don't force someone who is not going into a field that has anything to do with math, to do trigonometry.

I agree with this. Focus on personal strengths for vocation.

Wow.

So you're a boot licker for big government, and have no idea WHY our country is structured the way that it is. That kind of thinking led to the Civil War, btw.

I bet you'd have had a problem with Texas breaking off from the US under the Biden administration. I bet you'd even have wanted the military to intervene and try and force prevent it. As far a I am concerned, let them break away. To Hell with California.
