I love being the first on the block to mow. Normally when I put the mower up, I will tape a note to his mailbox from the "HOA".

I live in town and we don't have an HOA. I always start the note with "Some of your neighbors have been complaining ..." and we are his only neighbors. He is a really good guy and we have a blast like that.

I am in a HOA. Used to be on the board so I know all the rules. New board members try and 'enforce' the fake rules and I just laugh.

I have nothing against HOAs because they do serve a purpose in protecting your property value. It would be different were I younger and not sure if I knew I was going to be selling in a given timeframe. If I am planning on living in a house until death, I just don't give a shit what its value is when I die. Overall, I'm just too curmudgeonly to allow someone to tell me what I can do on the land I own though.

So here about the 9th of April I have to fly to Florida to drive my aunt's car back here. If I go alone, I'm tempted to swing up through Alabama. I've never been there before. North up to Tennessee and over to St Louis, and up to Iowa instead of going through the mess of Atlanta . Anyone of you bam'ers or Tennessee folk be available if I swung through your states on the way? Also, if I end up going through Georgia instead, where are you at @OldDevilDawg, anywhere near the interstate?
