I wasn't a bad father, but I made a lot of mistakes. Thank you @della.

I can honestly say that I learned from my mistakes because my grandson says I'm his favorite person. I'm still not perfect, but I'm a helluva lot better than I used to be.

No one is perfect, ODD. Until someone is dead, it is never too late to tell someone you love them and you're sorry or explain you regret this or that. Love cures a lot and wounds can heal.

Thanks @della , My son is 29 now and God know hes had his struggles. but thanks to the good lord he seems to be finding his way now.. I raised him to be tough, i took some flak for it at times from his momma and her momma but I stood firm knowing my role and what i was making.. Toxic Masculinity is a wrong and dangerous idea. Boys need to learn from Men to prioritize GOD, FAMILY, and COUNTRY.. soon followed by HONOR, CHARACTER and INTEGRITY. Most of us fall a bit short, but this is the goal!

I knew you would be a good dad. Women make good moms, but usually crappy dads. A good dad will stand in the fire and forgo happiness to protect and provide. Lots of women will just split if they aren't happy. By in large men are more selfless than women. I hate to say that, but it is what it is.
