Doesn’t matter how good our defense is when the offense is inept. Just look at a part of the LSU game. We made a goal line stand and stopped them four times in a row. We went three and out and punted. DB makes an amazing interception on ensuing LSU drive. Offense goes three and out and punts. Defense finally breaks and gives up a td. Our lone touchdown before the final minutes only came because LSU muffed a punt and we got the ball at the 20.

That’s the story of this auburn team and just Gus in general for many years. Great defense and a predictable offense that only works against poorer teams we can physically overmatch. Also Bo Nix is not ready to play in these bigger SEC games and our backup quit the team today.

I didn't know about your backup quitting, but it's the iron bowl, and it's at Auburn. Bama's defense is NOT what it has been in recent years, so I'm not nearly as optimistic as you are pessimistic about the game. On top of that, Auburn no longer is in the hunt for the SEC Championship and you guys (as does Bama) relish playing the role of spoiler. I think it will be a LOT closer than you think, and like I said, I wouldn't be surprised to see Auburn win it outright.

BAMA plays the roll of being spoiled. Thing is. Looking at the season so far things are what they are. But the IB? Ha!!!! Heated rivalry games such as this? Weird things happen.

Gus made a bad mistake in letting Gatewood leave. Auburn is one play
away from having a retired pro baseball player starting or a crippled
Whitlock running the wildcat.
