The 90s thread got me thinking. There were elite booths back then.

Keith Kackson and Bob Griese
Ron Franklin and Mike Gottfried

Would you say any booth today is as good?

Fowler has no business on the top crew. He’s far inferior to someone like Sean McDonough. Herbie was good originally, but spread himself so thin years ago and quit preparing. He doesn’t even really watch games anymore and offers no insight.

Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt- I love them but recognize that Gus is an acquired taste. Klatt is what herbie was when he was good.

Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy are excellent. Should be the abc/espn top crew.

Joe Tessitore and Jesse Palmer are awful. Tess ruins his underwear after a 3 yard gain. Dude is an espn hack

Just some ramblings as we pass the time.

Growing up I always liked Keith Jackson and Tim Brando.

The absolute worst is of course Beth Mowins.

Don't forget Porky Rowe who is more like Eye Rape than Eye Candy.

But at least Mushmouth is gone. He was insufferable. I used to think he broadcast without pants on to make things easier for when he'd overflow the booth over a 3 yard gain.

I mis Brent, I miss Gary.

No real personality anymore. No "oomph".
