With a family full of teachers I know the routine. The first week is crazy but soon they are coming home with cute stories, loving every minute of what they are doing.

I got hooked on it while I was stationed on Oahu. You can get it here in the states, or order it online, but it's not cheap!

The week I was in Hawaii that is all we drank naturally. Next shopping trip if the wife is not looking I may drop a bag in the cart and claim innocence when we get home.

Being from the south, I had never had Macadamia nuts before landing in Pearl Harbor. There was a store at the Pearl City mall on Oahu that sold them by the trash bag for next to nothing. I get hooked, especially on the chocolate covered ones, only to get back to the states and realize that they are 100x the price. WTF 'Merica?
Plus the ones on the mainland taste stale in comparison.
Taste-wise, the same applies to Pineapple. I went to the Doyle farms between Pearl and Wiki-Wiki and ate that shit right off the plant. Publix Pineapple or that shit out of a can tastes like ass.

Most of what you get here on the mainland is a 10% Kona blend. I have found 100% Kona, but it's expensive as hell!

I did not know about the 10% blend, now it appears I may have to do a little looking around for the real stuff. But, cost may get me.

Posted other post before seeing this thanks. I am kicking myself since I got home. While near the North shore visiting my son’s buddy’s surf shop off the beaten path, there was a coffee warehouse in the same dirt parking lot. I meant to go in and buy some but was pulled away before I got the chance. Damn.

Also, a quick story for you. In the mid 80's before on-line buying I had a co-worker who was married without kids yet. His wife and him would fly to Hawaii about once every 3 months for a couple of days. He swore by the Kona coffee. He always brought enough back to keep him satisfied until his next trip.
