FSU fans who is going to be the new FSU HC?

I could be wrong but I don't believe FSU has the juice to pull one of those guys right now.

It’s not about “juice.” It’s about timing and a little luck.

FSU isn’t any different than another of major programs when they’re down. There’s a high ceiling, high pressure, but the means to have ultimate success.

Bob Stoops would be a “home run” and while I’ll “see it when I believe it” it would be the type of “right time, right place” (Urban at Ohio State, Saban at Bama, etc).

I.E. Bob wants to get back to coaching (he took an XFL job for gods sake and that league is gonna good fold after 4 weeks) FSU is a major P5 job with a track record of success, and other than SC, it’ll be the top option (barring some major malfeasance we don’t see coming) in the carousel.

Now, Id say we’re more like to get Mark Stoops than Bob. But who knows.

I meant the juice to pull Stoops or CUM out of retirement right now. Not sure anyone has that kind of juice.

Especially since he just told Herbie he is not a candidate for that job.

proposing Bob Stoops to take a head coaching gig has long been a joke on Gator boards. We went through that exercise multiple times starting in 2001. We made him millions of extra dollars in salary.

look at you manning up and shit!!

So, from all the “sources” it ranges from Bob isn’t a candidate, to Bob’s already calling recruits.

My honest take:

There are talks. Bob has interest and FSU is all in and will give Bob whatever he wants. It’ll simply be a case of if Bob wants the job or not.

I still lean no, but I don’t think it’s a as unrealistic as first thought.

After Bob, I’d say BV is the next choice.

I just dont see it being Bob. He is a pretty straight forward guy. If he said it isnt him. I doubt it will be him.

Still leaning it’s not him, but there are talks from what’s being spread.

They may be about him getting the job, or they may be talks with him to get a feel for his brother or what it would take for us to get BV.

Hell, I’d like to have him in as a guy who built a blue blood back up to know what he thinks we should do and what we need.

I just don’t think it’s a “shut door”

It’s just one of of those names that comes up every time. everytime ND has a bad game / season his name has come up. And back before Kelly was hired his name was everywhere up here. Now it is true that he came up here during the hiring process. Later on it was found out he was condo shopping in Chicago and not meeting with ND admin.

I could always be wrong. But the one thing about Bob. He has always been very straight forward

We'll see, I remain skeptical, but there are some clear signs that this is more than just a "floated name."
