Will officially end at 273 games. Exactly 100 games short of Nebraska. And a run that started in 1973.

this is what happens when you schedule too many “meh” opponents in a row. In an era with technology like we have and a “meh” level of home team that people don’t want to come see

I think it goes beyond the "meh" opponents. Like you said, today's level of technology has changed the whole dynamic. Ticket prices are through the roof. Today's generation has more difficulty sitting in one spot for 3 hours, no matter what it's for. You're right to an extent about the "meh" home team, but that is a result of ND being "down" for a long enough period that generational interest was lost. That's gonna take another decade of consistency to overcome.

Many CFB teams are cutting back on seating capacity. Filling a 90K plus stadium every week isn't as easy as it used to be. I could be wrong, but I believe that most, if not all, schools that have or are increasing capacity reside in the south where CFB is king over the NFL.

All that said, Seeing a game live at ND is still on my wish list. I wouldn't give a shit if they were playing Incarnate Word.

I'm going to Penn State this weekend- mostly because the kids want me to. have to admit I'd rather stay at home and watch on TV.
I skipped last year altogether- one a year is plenty

I think lot of old folks feel this way

There is an old joke around S Bend.

If you want to live forever. Be a ND season ticket holder. Them bastards never die.

I have to admit I dont go to nearly as many games as I used to. And that is mainly because the product on the field just isnt good enough.

I would rather sit at home with my TV after tailgating at the stadium before the game

The drive into L.A for me without traffic is close to a 2 hour trek. Throw in traffic, which is bad even on a Saturday, and I have cut my attendance down to 1 game a year. Staying at home and watching on tv, cheap beer, and the pisser close, I just rather stay home.

One of my boys suggested to the family we attend the last game of the season against ucla. I was against it, but the whole family wants to go, so it looks like I will be there. Not looking forward to it.

Should have plenty of leg room though. I don’t see a capacity crowd being there.

I try to go to at least 1 game a year. Looks like this year will be in ATL for the GT game.....if I'm lucky. Like most, I'd rather stay at home and watch it on the big screen. Hoping to make it to a Georgia Southern game as well, but life is just too damn busy for everything I'd like to do.

we had the 2nd longest home sellout streak in America trailing only Nebraska. Our home sellout streak dated back to the 70s. Then we hired Muschamp.

We took to calling him the Streakbreaker because he ended so many positive streaks we had going it was incredible.

I think it has been a ND and Nebraska thing for a long time. I know Florida was up there at one point. But I dont think they ever cleared the 200 game point.

Realistically ND would be up there with Nebraska. Except some idiot scheduled a home game during fall break in 73 and many people were off campus which kept the student section from selling out. And of course they weren't allowed to offer those seats to general admission because they were dedicated to students.

Yet bucking the trend, Utah. Coming for the 2021 season:

The renovations will include enclosing the stadium bowl by connecting the east and west concourses on the south end, increasing audience capacity from 45,807 to 51,444.

Entering the 2019 season, Utah has played before 57-straight sellouts (53 which exceeded the seating capacity) in Rice-Eccles Stadium extending back to the 2010 opener against Pittsburgh. In its first 21 years, there have been 74 total standing-room-only crowds.

Rice-Eccles Stadium history have been recorded in the years since. The Utes averaged a school-record 46,533 fans per game in 2015, when they also recorded their best single-game attendance mark (47,825 vs. Michigan). Dating back to its 13-0 Sugar Bowl campaign of 2008, Utah’s average attendance has exceeded the stadium’s capacity for 11 consecutive years.

Further expansion will occur when the Olympics return. The East side renovations from the previous Olympic expansion included the footers and other structural infrastructure to add a second tier.

Michigan's 100k streak is going to end soon if the AD doesn't get their heads out of their asses.
