The investigation was primarily fueled, according to a draft police report, by one football player who claimed he was harassed, hazed and assaulted by other players.

Numerous team members, and others associated with the football program, were interviewed and overwhelmingly they disclaimed, or flat out denied the allegations, with most saying it was just locker-room horseplay, or teammates joking around, and they felt that the original complaint came from a player looking for a quick transfer to another school.

One of the players accused was even given a lie detector test, which he passed.

The police report was eventually reviewed by Centre County District Attorney Bernie Cantorna, who confirmed the decision not to file any criminal charges.

I'm not taking sides just yet. Wait and see when all the facts come out.

If all this is true, however, the guy will be an outcast in every locker room he sets foot in.

I wasn't there, so I know no more than you do.

What I can say with direct knowledge is this- there are places where local and state government is supportive of the state university and might wink at problems if they can get away with it. Pennsylvania is not one of those places- even the local paper is adversarial to the university. This isn't new, it predates Sandusky by decades. Why do I mention this? Because if the Centre County DA didn't file charges, it's because he didn't find anything, not because he didn't want to.

As written in a Tweet, Humphries said that he had made the decision to transfer but did not yet know what his next destination would be in football.
"After many months of prayer and thought, I will be leaving Penn State. I'm so thankful for the coaches and the staff for allowing me to come here all the way from Texas. I have made many friends here that I will dearly miss and it's going to be hard to leave them here," said Humphries. "But in order to grow and not lose the passion that I have for football and for everything that I value. I unfortunate (sic) will be transferring from this place. I appreciate everything that has been given to me and the relationships that I have made along the way. Good luck to the Nittany Lions on their bowl game and I wish them the best. So now, I'll be figuring out where I will call home next."
Despite a change in rules within the NCAA allowing players to participate in up to four games even while taking a redshirt season, Humphries did not appear in game action at all for the Nittany Lions this season.
Humphries picked the Nittany Lions over offers from Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Stanford, UCLA and USC, plus Oklahoma, LSU, TCU and Texas A&M.

I turned the corner in the locker room to have a ball sack staring me in the face more than once. i laughed with the rest of the team. i didn't cry. i didn't whine. it didn't threaten my manhood. i didn't need to go to a safe room and color. i didn't need to tell a coach. i took it like a man and got even with the fuckers at a later date.

the issue is we now have a generation of pussies that lack the ability to standup for themselves/take a joke.

Yeah. In today's world, if you can't take it.....sue. That will make you the millions you don't have the 'intestinal fortitude" to earn.
 
Pretty sure we all know that hazing goes on. We all know that it occasionally goes over the line. It does not go over the line unless you , as an individual failed "plays well with others" in Kindergarten... Snowflakes, snowflakes everywhere....

my point is, most of it is guys being dumb-asses like guys have always been dumb-asses. hell, i'll still fart on my best friends' heads if i get the chance. now we have a generation of kids raised by helicopter moms that don't know how to handle their own shit.

you are right, if it gets out of hand the Alpha should stop it. but that is another issue, the death of the good Alpha Male. i know when i was growing up there were always a few good older dudes around that pretty much kept order. if you were doing something you didn't need to be doing they would smack you upside the head. for the most part, those solid young men are gone. the "Alpha" had been conditioned out of them. it is a different world though, when we were coming up we only had to worry about getting our eye dotted. now, kids have to worry about getting shot.
