WTF PSU

@Rod Dangerfield what I gather is you received the ban for your use of fag towards other posters and your love of using that word.

So, we've got a lot of younger people getting involved behind the scenes with this site, including on Twitter and discord. That along with people deeply associated with this site who are queer/bi etc.

So pejoratives whether racial, sexists or orientation based are no go's here.

We don't have a lot of rules but let's be mindful that in the end, this board, and this site exists as people's livelihood and we are but a customer so to speak.

I called another poster I regularly exchange barbs with a faggot. It was in a playful manner. I do it regularly on the sportshoop, as well. I figured that kind of rivalry banter was allowed here. I was obviously wrong. Guess there are too many tight asses (& obviously loose asses too) here.

It was only 1 poster. It wasn’t posters.

Instead of banning me, any of you mods should had DM’d me & just conversed with me about it. I went a full damn week not knowing what I’d done. I honestly figured I’d been hacked again. When I finally got back, I learned it was just bad modding. And to think I was figuring there weren’t any Sublight types here.

Let me just say this. I haven’t been messaged whining by ANYONE. When I got banned from SO, I knew I deserved it, even though I’d seen folks get a slap on the wrist for far worse offenses. I still don’t think the punishment fit the offense, but that was the decision they made.
This board is our home now, and there will be times that a mod will make a decision that may not be popular or agreed with, but that is at the discretion of the mod and will be supported by the rest of us.
We don’t have a lot of rules here which is nice, but we cannot let it be the wild Wild West either. Anyone who receives a ban they think it’s unjust or unfair then they need to reach out to that mod. I always open a PM with an individual that allows us to chat off the board privately. I’d suggest if you find yourself in that situation you utilize that.

If it's a "questionable" ban, I'm 100% in favor of asking for an explanation. But when you post something that you should know is inappropriate, there should be no need for explanation. Take your medicine and sleep it off. When you wake up, don't go looking for cheese to go with your whine. Be a fucking adult.

I personally believe a dialogue is important, and try to provide that opportunity. I’m sure there will be a time it may not be appropriate. For the record, I’m much more interested in correcting a behavior than administering a ban. I’ve opened a few pm messages, and that usually does the trick.
