UGA will win the Natty in 2020. Suck it bitches.

Y'all need to worry about us beating you again, in the first place, and we are in Columbia this year. How are the NEW hedges looking at Sanford?

With the recruiting that Kirby has there is no reason not to be in the picutre every year.

The question will be what will the team look like post Fromm. And if it doesnt gel with the transfer what will be the excuse. How many "maybe next years" will Georgia give Kirby after being treated like the bridesmaid for so many years under Richt

Post Fromm could be considered negative now that Kirby has brought in a proven talent at OC. Monken's record speaks for itself. Add the fact that he now has 2 former HC's on his offensive staff...….hell If Fromm knew that was gonna happen, he may have stayed for his senior year.

I can't figure out how to quote posts from one thread to another so I'll copy and past a couple of posts from another thread where I responded to @DieSonneTeufeln

It's coming. Pull up a chair and watch. UGA now has the #1 recruiting class in 2 of the last 3 years. If you can't win it with the best, you probably can't win it.

Kirby is learning......fast. Just look at this as a comparison.

With the “Now” nature of today’s sports world, some are already challenging Smart’s ability to get Georgia “over the hump.”

Keep in mind, Smart is only 44 years old and entering his fifth season as a head coach — 8-4 versus Top 10 teams, riding a string of three straight SEC East titles.
For perspective, Steve Spurrier, rightfully regarded as one of the greatest coaches of the modern era, didn’t win his national title at Florida until his seventh year at the age of 50.
Dabo Swinney needed eight full seasons to win his first national title at Clemson after taking the job on an interim basis in 2008. Swinney was 47 when he held up the big trophy.
Nick Saban?
When Saban was 44, he was in his first season as Michigan State’s head coach en route to a 6-5-1 record and a loss to Gerry DiNardo’s LSU team in the Independence Bowl.
Saban, in fact, didn’t even win a bowl game as a head coach until he was 49 years old at LSU. The Tigers won the national title Saban’s fourth year as head coach in 2003, when he was 52.

Smart isn’t the type to have any sort of schedule or timeline in place — he’s on record as saying anything less than a national championship isn’t good enough.

I totally agree with you, it’s all on Kirby’s shoulders now. Not saying he can’t do it but just imagine a guy like Whittingham in Athens!

ODD's response.....

I love Whittingham, he's a generational HC without a doubt. It's actually damn near impossible for me to imagine him at UGA. What we have in Athens is a pretty weird situation. Because of the limited "peripheral vision" of boosters, some HCs wouldn't get the full control they need to be successful. Jim Donnan is a perfect example. It takes a certain type mentality to deal with what goes on "behind the scenes".

It's not new. Vince Dooley was not the driving force for UGA back in the early 80s, Erk Russell was. UGA spurned him and the downward spiral began. Kirby fits what "they" want, and has the potential to bring them what they think they are "paying" for. Fucking boosters. We all need them, but we ain't got to like them.
