Boise State vs Florida State

Four keys for the Broncos:
1. O-line has to provide our new quarterback with protection. The O-line has over 100 games of experience in total so they should be able to get the job done.
2. D-line has to get pressure on their new quarterback. BSU has the best D-line in the Mountain West and a top 5 stud in Curtis Weaver
3. CBs gotta keep up with FSU’s taller receivers. BSU has a small cornerback group and that was exposed when they played OK ST last year.
4. Bryan Harsin and Co. have to out-scheme and out-coach Willie Taggart’s group. Expect to see designed plays to pressure the quarterback and a few trick-type plays on the offensive side.

If at least 3 of these can be done I believe Boise State can pull of the upset in Jacksonville. My prediction is the Broncos leave victorious 24-20.

Doesn't Boise State have a new DC? For a new DC that's a tall task to go against Kendall Briles. Especially since he has success fast as an OC. I think both teams dial up the trick plays.

Yes we have a new DC coming in since Oregon took Andy Avalos. I’ve heard that our new guy is more aggressive and that’s probably what will work best against a new quarterback and a line that struggled in 2018. Will be an exciting game!

Looks great on anal dildos or at least that is what Mullens is telling recruits. How the hell else do you explain being out recruited by the guy to the north that went 5-7.

Anal dildos......like the ones we shoved up y’all’s asses the last time your team played?

Any talent that FSU has on the O-line will be true freshmen. Their O-line was abysmal last year. Boise's D-line should win the matchup enough to level the playing field.

On offense, I expect to see a strong run game behind an experienced O-line that allows some "trick" play action stuff to succeed. I was thinking more like a 30-24 win.

I’m just worried about having a new QB and RB. I hope our line is able to give them enough room to produce, if not, we’ll be in for a bad game.

The QB is by far the biggest ? Cord is still injured but expected to be the guy, Bachmeier was a highly touted 4* but just two months out of high school.
I'm nervous about this QB game. If it goes south it could start the direction/momentum of the season off bad.

Jake Fromm was a highly touted 4-star and took over as a true freshman. It happens.

If Marvin Wilson is out, the edge shifts significantly over to Boise State.

The Broncos have the clear advantage in the trenches and on a hot sticky night, wearing down a thin FSU D-line and forcing 3 and out's is certainly doable for them. I think you'll see them control the TOP and move the ball on the ground fairly well. The question will be if they can score touchdowns in the RedZone. Conversely, I think FSU will score points like they did last year, i.e. Big Plays! FSU had a surprising high number of explosive plays last year. The problem was those explosive plays seemed to come after a quarter and a half of 3 and outs. Briles likes big plays and quick drives whether they're TD's or Punts

The pressure is certainly more on FSU as a third straight season opening smothering with Virginia in two weeks means a certain 1-2 start and this program has not exactly answered adversity well the last couple of years. Boise St also loves to rise up and beat P5 teams and I'm sure they've been amped for this game for a while.

It's a classic head vs heart. My head telling me that Boise St runs the ball enough to keep FSU off balance and the FSU offense struggles to move the ball outside of the big plays. Boise St guts out a hard earned 24-17 win.

My heart tells me the FSU secondary confuses the young QB and forces some turnovers. While the FSU offense shows the instant change Briles is known for and hits the big plays more frequently and pull away at the end 34-20.

Not sure where I'm leaning just yet.

Boise State has....

- A new Defensive Coordinator
- A new starting QB (who has limited experience and coming off an ACL injury)
- A new starting RB

New Defensive Coordinator - FSU's subpar O-line makes this a wash

A solid very experienced O-line makes this a wash

It should be a helluva game. I still think BSU pulls it out. I just don't have a lot of faith in Taggart.
