I was out for the morning run, saw this big bird circles around, tucks in his wings, dives down and kills a squirrel.
This bird wing span is at least four feet. It was cool to see him in hunting action.

Turkey vulture. Odd that it was hunting, usually they eat carrion.

Speaking of bird sightings... Today on my way home from dropping off a horse I saw some geese in a field. Not that big of a deal, except they were Greylag Geese. A species native to Eurasia, not North America. Very unusual to see.

It’s fun to watch birds of prey in action.
My neighbor and I were getting ready to feed the hogs. We were sitting in my truck and watched a hawk swoop down in my field and grab what we thought was a gopher. It turned out to be a snake, and that damned hawk dropped it in the tree right above where we were parked. Neither of us wanted to get out of the truck.

There gave been some seriously weird migrations lately. Iceland just welcomed a huge contingent of penguins from Antarctica. They swam the whole way following fish.
