speaking of flat tire and small town. My roommates and me, 3 of us drove to Lincoln NE to watch OU/NU game in 1980, on our way back to Norman just about an hour south of Lincoln and a few miles north of a little town call Wynmore on hwy 77 we had a flat and with my luck the spare tire was out of air also. We were about to walk to town to get a tow truck, a pickup pulled up with an old couple in it all decked out in Nebraska gear. The man asked us what happen, we told him. He said you boys take your tires get in my pickup bed and I take you to town, my brother owns a full service gas station, he's closed now but I'll get him to fix your flat and air up your spare for you.
So he took us to his brother's gas station, he stays with us tells his wife to drive his brother house and tell him to come to his shop. He came fixed our tires charged us only $10 we tried to give him more but he refused. The man and his wife drove us back to our car. Before they go his wife gives us a paper sack and said while you boys at the shop I went home and fix a little something for you. We open the bag in it are 3 sandwiches, 3 bags of chips, 3 cokes and 3 apples. Small town people and Nebraska fans rock given the fact that OU came from behind and beat NU 21-17 in the final minute.
