Who wins the whole damn thing and why.

The Big Ten changed it‘s arbitrary timeline rules from 21 days to 17 days for players who have tested positive for Covid. This will allow Olave to play for OSU, who was sorely missed against Northwestern.
I’m convinced the only reason the Big Ten even had a season in the first place is to get tOSU into the playoffs and nothing will change my mind about that.

...and Brian Day knows he has Scott Frost to thank for it...

From the article:
"All week long, there’s been a mutual respect expressed between these two schools for a joint effort that helped ensure the Big Ten would play a season this fall."

Completely agree with ya

I had prayed that ND would get the ACC win to get the 2 seed and have Ohio St in round 1. Just because I wanted to get vengeance for the Fiesta Bowl. Because I think ND is better than Ohio St this year.

But you have to beat the team in front of you before you get the opponent you want

How about overall?
This year will showcase relative proficiency as a qualifier for the first time. Although its been around forever, it seems. This is the first time its an official parameter. Making it extra special. The winner is the New York Times National Champion, reinstated. Fact.

Bama and Clemson in the title game. It will be all about the defense's. Which team can stop the others offense. Hell I don't know. I think Clemson's defense is better than Bama's, but is it that much better. Will know more after Bama plays ND.
Well I was wrong. It will be an interesting title game.

If Waddle is able to play a substantial number of downs, tOSU is gonna have more trouble than they can handle. Personally, I don't think he's gonna be a factor, but who knows until the game is played. Fields can give Bama's defense trouble, depending on which Fields shows up for the game.

I dont think any defense in the country has an answer for the Bama offense.

ND gave it everything that they had. And were somewhat successful.

But unless your secondary and specifically your corners are faster than their receivers it is a lost cause. And I havent seen anything about Ohio St that makes me think they can.

I think the only question will be Bamas ability to slow down the Ohio St offense. And how Saban plans to eliminate the Sermon - Fields ground game.

Bama's defense in the front 7 is as good as anyone in the nation. It's their defensive backfield that has had questions all year. I think Day can exploit that. The question is.....which Fields will Day have to work with. The one that Northwestern made look foolish or the one that shredded Clemson.

Ohio State is going to have to bring pressure every play and force quick throws. Even though Mac has done well against pressure, if you give him time he will kill you. Force quick throws, make sure tackles, and hope for a turnover or mistake.

Maybe it's nothing but it seems OSU has at times played to the level of their competition, kind of a "we know we are better than you so we won't play to our full potential kind of thing". When they played Clemson, they played hard because they were motivated. Does the same thing happen against bama or does osu get to big of a head because of what they did to Clemson and not play with a chip on their shoulder.

Prolly depends on how they react to this BAMA being some unstoppable juggernaut rat poison being bandied about by the talking heads.

I think we step up in this game and like the Clemson one, we have nothing to lose.

Honestly, NEITHER team does. I posted earlier that OSU had to bring pressure every down to have success on defense. Bama has to be able to contain Fields. You don’t stop great players, you just have to contain them and minimize the damage. Both teams are loaded with talent. Should be a hell of a game!

Maybe. Maybe not. BAMA is expected to win. And with OSU seeming to be a bit short handed if BAMA loses I doubt they'll hear the end of it for a long time.
